2010 — Group Painting Exhibition
Laleh Gallery, Tehran
This series emerged through a combination of drawing, painting, and found imagery. Rather than focusing on portraiture itself, the works explored situations in which human presence unfolds within a particular moment or event.
Images were gathered from various sources and repeatedly altered, covered, and reconstructed throughout the process. As a result, the figures occupy a threshold between appearance and disappearance, as if what remains is not the individuals themselves, but the trace of a moment, an encounter, or an event.
In many of the works, the image resists certainty. Details are obscured, parts of the figure are lost, and what remains is a fragile and unstable presence.
The series follows the moment when an image moves beyond the documentation of an event and becomes a blurred form of memory—a place where presence can still be felt, yet can never be fully recovered.
